I woke up with my eyes like prunes
My skin felt like an old stiff rag
and no amount of drink could slake my thirst
I walked out wearing just my skin
and wondered where the line between
the land and rain grows indistinct.
I felt my body disappear
into the humid atmosphere
and I began to fear the unreal lash.
I washed up on the beach between
the sewage and the drunks and I
believe I plum forgot your name.
I hope in time you will agree
your memories were unkind to me
I tried my best to be a better man
I felt my body disappear
into the endless atmosphere
and I began to fear
the unreal lash.
I came up with this daft idea while on holiday on the isle of Mull. I had an awful cold and was extremely dehydrated. There was nothing I could do to quench my thirst. I sat at the window of the little cottage by Calgary bay and daydreamed about stripping naked and wandering off into the rain soaked landscape, never to be seen again. I thought it would make a fun short story about the lengths a person will go to distract themselves from suffering. I later turned it into a song, the lyrics of which make up this comic strip. Today I feel similarly dehydrated with a stinking cold so thought I would distract myself with this comic strip.
Let me know if you would want to hear this song. I might share it if enough people request it.
Cheers
Alex
The comic strip, lyrics, and story are all great. I would love to hear the song.
